- Abstract : Bioversity International is a global research-for-development organization, envisioning agricultural biodiversity nourishing people and sustaining the planet. It delivers scientificevidence, management practices and policy options to use and safeguard agricultural and tree biodiversity to attain sustainable global food and nutritional security. It works with partners in low-income countries in different regions, where agricultural and tree biodiversity can contribute to improved nutrition, resilience, productivity and climate change adaptation. Although Bioversity International has a broad remit, working in many countries on a wide range of topics, banana remains a key crop and the focus of the banana research program as well as an important element in other areas of research, such as integrated conservation strategies, agricultural landscapes and food systems.
